Sleek Cabin Cost Less Than $100K to Build

When a former farmhouse failed to meet the daily demands of a working farm, clients approached the Bioi design firm with some tough demands. A new home had to be capable of withstanding harsh Canadian winters and years of utility, and yet also incredibly efficient in performance and space. The budget? Less than $100,000. The resulting house is part tiny home, part A-frame, with a large deck outside and a repurposed log cabin next door for storage. Corrugated metal wraps the exterior of the house, other walls are clad in cedar. Inside, a wooden core contains the bathroom, laundry, mechanical room, kitchen, and closet while the rest of space remains open. Overall, it’s a sleek design on the cheap.
