Hang Your Hat: Stunning Brooklyn Townhouse Looks To Set a Record When It Hits The Market
Developer Shahrzad Khayami is looking to shatter Brooklyn real estate price records with the conversion of a Willow Street townhouse. The seven-unit apartment building is getting a lavish overhaul into a single-family mansion with an $18 million price tag.
Khayami, head of real estate firm AscentSeven, purchased 146 Willow Street for $6.8 million in 2014 and set the renovation in motion. AscentSeven soon signed on Brooklyn architecture firm Baxt Ingui, known for savvy brownstone restorations that incorporate energy-efficient passive house techniques.
Once the renovation is complete — probably in September — the 7,750-square-foot Willow Street brownstone will not only be a certified passive house. It will also have a rebuilt stoop, elevator, and high-end finishes, plus a roof garden with Manhattan views.
The landscaping will be done by Palm Beach-based Nievera Williams Design, known for lush dramatic designs.
The listing broker is Terry Naini of Town Residential. The property has its own website now; a listing will go up later this week, she said.
