Rad Reno: 19th-Century NYC Industrial Building Turned Loft
Location: New York, New York
Price: $22,000,000
If you had any doubts that SoHo lofts have an a fairytale charm, please let this $22M penthouse quell them. Designed by architect Jose Ramirez, the Puck Penthouses are the crème de la crème of former industrial lofts. And they have the prices to match. Penthouse I had the gall to ask $66 million, while Penthouse II has, relatively speaking, a more sober asking price of $35 million. But it’s within reason, especially considering this bonkers list of luxury amenities: kitchen countertops made with lava stone from Mt. Etna in Sicily, mother-of-pearl hand-poured Terrazzo floors, a $100,000, La Cornue stove, floor-to-ceiling-marble bathrooms, and—the pièce de résistance!—19-inch televisions installed into the bathroom mirrors.
Profiled a full year ago in ElleDecor, real estate power couple Jared Kushner Ivanka Trump detail the exhaustive renovation process on the tiniest of their penthouses. Ivanka, who describes herself as an “editor and advisor” on the project, notes that it was the grit of the landscape that drew her in, while Jared concurs. From nickel-and-glass doors and exposed-steel beams to barrel ceilings that boast 19th-century glazed brick and cast-iron columns, the loft is chock full of industrial touches.
