Open House: Cool Midcentury Reno Hits The Market
Sarasota Modern star Tim Seibert, known for sculptural homes that embrace geometry and a sensitivity to the region’s subtropical climate, 1967-built Cooney House has just hit the market for $1.6M.
The 2,184-square-foot residence, which was once called one of “Sarasota’s 10 Most Beautiful Homes” by Sarasota Magazine, went through a total renovation after it last sold in November 2013 for $810K (You can check out “before” photos here.) So while the house no longer holds time-capsule status, the listing says Seibert apparently “commended” the results as “reinforcing his original design.” Anyway, the four-bedroom home now features an enlarged great room, after the revamp enclosed a patio, as well as new porcelain floor tiles, impact-resistant windows, hurricane screening, and re-engineered roof.
