A modern reconstruction of Josef Albers original 1927 design, this writing desk was built for the Moellenhoff family. Although their home was destroyed in the war, this piece, along with Albers’ famous nesting tables, was saved and brought to the United States prior to the outbreak of World War II. Nearly an exact copy of the original desk, the writing desk is made of solid oak with a yellow lacquered glass top, black lacquered drawer fronts, brass hardware, and an oak side panel that can be raised to create a larger work space.
Copeland’s Catalina furniture series features clean lines, organic influences, and geometric forms. The Catalina furnishings are suggestive of America’s midcentury modern designers, and will complement modern and traditional interiors alike. The Extending Table from 2131 is an innovative home furnishing that can be used as a desk or table. Crafted from rich walnut wood, the Extending Table can expand from five feet to ten feet, making it easy to adapt from a casual four-person meal to a dinner party with eight guests. While most extending dining tables require removing and storing a table leaf, this table expands simply by sliding the table, making it easy to adjust. When used as a work station, the table can be angled to create two spacious desktops.

The Copenhague Series from HAY was designed in collaboration with Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for the new buildings at the University of Copenhagen. The series includes furniture for dormitory rooms, classrooms, and common spaces, and is characterized by its functionality and warmth. The Copenhague Desk has a distinctive silhouette—the tabletop appears to fold out of the trestle style legs, which gives the desk a sense of mobility and lightness despite its sturdy nature. The backrest of the desk similarly appears to fold out from the legs, and provides a functional rest for books and notepads, as well as a visually interesting detail.
The Cedric Desk from SCP was designed by Kay + Stemmer as a part of the SCP 2009 collection. The desk is at once simple and detailed, and is defined by refined lines and master craftsmanship. From a distance, the Cedric Desk appears angular, but an up close inspection shows rounded edges in the corners and lines of the desk, softening the look of the piece and giving it an overall sense of subtlety. The desk is crafted from European walnut wood and features a leather top and leather-lined drawers.
